On Monday October 27, 2008 the board voted to Increase Rates  on January 1, 2008 and   eliminate the Paratransit Group Pass on December 1, 2008.  Elimination of the Paratransit Group Pass means that people with a Paratransit ID will now have to pay a discounted fare on Buses and Light Rail.  Ridership for the Masses questioned why RT was not waiting until January to change ALL rates as they appear to be singling out a special group of people by  change the rates in December..Their response was that it would be confusing to change it all in January and that by doing it separately there would be less confusion...we can only guess that the real reason is they would save  money, 1.3 million dollars by eliminating the pass in Dec instead of January.  We questioned their methodology.
